Bumps n Stuff

A report of the bits and bobs

Waddle: diameter about a dime, height about 2/3 that
Left hip: she popped summer 2014
Right hip: popped with intervention in January

Truck Jump

Oregon Tails reported that Sage jumped into the back of the truck on Tuesday. Like a boss. She hates being lifted, but she hasn't put herself in the back of a car in like 2 years. Need to watch her as her ability to judge her ability is maybe a bit optimistic.

Sebaceous Cysts

Yellow has had 5 or 10 of these, each one does it's own thing. There are three kinds. On the skin, under the skin and today's - the first that has erupted.

They come to the surface and sometimes they appear like mini cauliflower, kind of bumpy and maybe with a little scab-but tiny.

Today's was a puss filled erupting bloody mess.

The vet saw a photo and confirmed that I should clean it, trim her fur and that in a few days it should heal up.

Après Bath

After her bath she refused to hop out herself, and after a good rub she plopped her behind down on the towel and got to cleaning the water off. No hurry, no escape, just chilling in a towel taco.

Art of surprise

I have been main an effort to make sure she can see me before I touch her, to avoid scaring her. Today I totally got her, and while she almost jumped out of her skin, there was no snap.

Hiking fun

A great afternoon hike to Mirror Lake, about 3 miles round trip. Yellow did great with the stable snow. The log bridge was definitely a mistake, she was shaky and lost her footing (went left, you can go right around the lake to bypass this bridge).

Holding it...

Sage loves to stay up with us - so long as the couch is available. If she can't get her way she puts herself to bed. If this happens before 8pm, we've gotten to the point where she has a hard time holding it all night, so I reluctantly have begun waking her up before I go to bed to send her outside so I don't get a 4am wake up call. This seems to be working well. She's ready to go at 7am, but that's better than 4. Moral? Let her on the couch?
